message: I'm hoping to connect with some old friends! I would have graduated from Central in 1971, but moved in 1970. (I had a great going away party at Eileen Guerican's house!) I also had many friends who were not at Central, such as my boyfriend in 1969, Chris Culley, and I had a serious crush on Marty Bauman, who worked at the A&P (I ran into him on a subway platform in the City in 1974, but have not seen him since). I'm wondering if any of my old babysitting charges are out there...in the Walsh, Fleming, Mahr, and Cassidy families! Whatever happened to Tony Magro? Bob Fells? Margaret Castronovo? Karen Zang? Roberta Creeron? Lloyd Lackow? Susan Wagner ? (Her parents (Herman and Pearl) owned the candy store/fountain across from Wheeler.) Did Tommy Schiano ever really learn to dance? Is Gil McGarrity still surfing? (The old fashioned surfing-with water!) Linda Joyner? Charlie Dell'Amore? (I started going out with some guy in about 1980 and he turned out to be Charlie's cousin...Charlie and I were in school together from Wheeler Avenue on. Small world!) I was in Omega Gamma Delta...some of the sports....but I also have not been back to Valley Stream since 1979. message: I am a volunteer firefighter in Alvin, Tx. I recently received a certificate from my Grandmother of my Grandfather who was a volunteer in 1938 at hose co. one. I would love to be able to talk to someone their who may be able to get me some old photos, patch or info. On behalf of Metlife and a resident of Valley Stream, i am organizing free tennis lessons for children of Valley Stream.

Boys & Girls of ages between 6-12 are welcome to join. The lesson are scheduled to start on May 01, 1999 to August 31, 1999. Lessons will be held on Saturdays from 10:AM to 1:00 PM.

A tentive place and final confirmation of deatils will be made available to those who are intrested once i have an idea of how many participants will attend.

message: I lived in Valley Stream until I was 11 years old. I went to Wheeler Avenue kindergarten and to Holy Name of Mary School. I used to live at 110 E. Carpenter Street. I am curious about the neighborhood now. Is that home still there, and what does it look like? I was trying to remember more information about the house, i.e. year built, etc. but I cannot. I moved away from Valley Stream in 1972 - and there are still some things about it that I miss. I currently live in St. Paul, MN. I would love it if someone could email me and let me know if there are any pictures or sources of information other than here on the web, where I can see Valley Stream now. The last info I had on it was that anniversary book that was put out. I would love it if someone would get back to me, I have looked up some families I grew up with and they still live there. But I am sure their kids have moved away. Looking forward to hearing from someone.

Hi my name is Michael Marchesano and I used to live in Vallety Stream. I lived at 34 North Corona Ave. 1 block from the Valley Stream State Park. I am looking for a few friends that I grew up with from 1958 to 1961 when my family moved to Florida in May of 1961. I did come back for that summer and stayed at a friends house her name was Laura Hedler at that time. I believe she got married and her married name is/was Elisio. I stayed downstairs with her Sister Claudia and her family. The other friends were Paul Bookman, Al and Richie Mirelli, Alex Tramma, Mille McShery, Joan Mullins and Dolores Brown.
